Airworthiness has two main domains; Initial Airworthiness and Continuing Airworthiness. Initial Airworthiness focus is on design and production aspects. Continuing Airworthiness means all of the processes ensuring that, at any time in its operating life, the aircraft complies with the airworthiness requirements in force and is a condition for safe operation.
Unmanned aircraft are considered to be aircraft and hence, need to have a type of certification to cover airworthiness report of the entire UAS and Pilot. The objectives of the aviation regulatory framework is to achieve and maintain the highest possible uniform level of safety. In the case of UAS, this means ensuring the safety of other aircraft, persons and property on the ground. This course is designed to understand the principles in the regulatory system concept concerning aircraft design, manufacturing, modification, operation, management and maintenance.
